So, Printing or Embroidery?

The choice between printing and embroidery falls to you. Both methods offer distinct advantages depending on your specific requirements and preferences.

When choosing - here’s what you need to remember:

Printing

Ideal for intricate designs with vibrant colours, printing provides versatility, speed, and efficiency. It’s suitable for various clothing types and offers a dynamic visual appeal. However, durability may be a concern over time, and the finish may not always convey the same level of professionalism as embroidery.

Embroidery

Thanks to its durability, professional appearance, and tactile quality, embroidery is perfect for achieving a high-end look that enhances your brand’s image. It offers consistency and longevity, making it suitable for a wide range of garments. However, intricate designs may not translate well, and it is not ideal for waterproof clothing.

A Guide to washing t-shirts

If you have a favourite item of clothing, you’ll know how disappointing it can be if it starts looking a little worse for wear.  Just like other garments, custom printed t-shirts need to be to look after properly to keep them looking like new, but thankfully, we have some top tips to help keep your printed t-shirts in excellent condition.

Washing a
printed t-shirt

Over time, the designs on screen printed t-shirts can start to crack and peel, so these types of t-shirts need extra care to keep them looking their best. Although the care labels inside the t-shirt can give some guidance, these are to protect the fabric rather than the print, so here is our advice.

Wash it
carefully

It is not enough to just throw your printed t-shirts into the laundry pile and hope for the best – just like when you separate your lights from your darks, you should wash your t-shirts with other t-shirts. This reduces the amount of friction inside your washing machine, leading to the ink starting to flake. For extra protection, turn your t-shirt inside out to stop the design from rubbing against other fabrics, helping you to preserve the quality. Make sure your washing machine is on the gentlest setting, too.

Keep it
cool

Not only do cool washes help minimise annoying t-shirt shrinkages, but washing your printed t-shirts at no higher than 30c can also help keep the artwork in great shape. Avoid harsh detergents and bleach, too, as these can damage your t-shirt – a gentle detergent will do the trick.

How to
iron

When Ironing your Prints turn your garment inside out or put a t-towel over the top, not only will this make it so your print won’t get damaged but also re seal any parts where the glue may have come unstuck. If your print is coming unstuck, bring it back into us at MagicTouch we may be able to fix it!
